Dear Alexis, 
I really like this guy at school, but he has a girlfriend. I have tried so many times to push my feelings away and act like they were never there, but that doesn't seem to be working. What am I supposed to do? Please help me!

Dear Lonely Lover,
To start off, you can’t help who you like, so that’s why pushing your feelings away aren’t helping. I understand you like him, but with him having a girlfriend, you should stop before getting in too deep. If he has a girlfriend now, it means you two aren’t suppose to be together at this very moment in time. I’m not saying never date anyone again because they have to break up soon, I’m saying that if you two are suppose to be together, now isn’t the right time. So, with that being said; branch out! Start a conversation with the cutie in your math class. Compliment the boy with the cool Bieber hair flip. I can guarantee you that there are other boys walking around your school; other fish in the sea. I know you don’t want to hear this, but this will happen so many times throughout your life and the best way to handle it is to brush off your shoulders and focus on something more important. You’re still young, so act like it and stop worrying about boys!

Dear Alexis,             This girl likes my boyfriend, she's made that obvious. She knows he has a girlfriend and continues to flirt with him. He said they're just friends but it's evident she wants more out of it. He's a really nice guy and can't be mean to her. Should I speak my mind to her? My first column!

October 7th, 2011 was the first issue of our school newspaper, and luckily for me, my column was in there! It means a lot to know that the editor liked my column and to see my words, my name, my picture in there. You're probably thinking I'm crazy to be this excited, but you would be excited too if it was your writing! This to me is like winning an award for being the best runner, except a little different. :). Anyway I  was just super excited to see my face; my name in our school paper! Let's keep this going!
