Is it worth risking our friendship?


Dear Alexis,I've known this girl for a long time and we have been talking somewhat seriously for the past couple of months. Is it worth it to risk the friendship for a relationship that might not work or should we just stay friends?

Dear anonymous,
A friendship is the start and backbone for a new relationship. If the friendship is strong enough for you to consider dating someone, the friendship should be strong enough to support the relationship if it falls through. In a situation like this, you have to follow your heart and be a little courageous.  Make sure you respect her decision as well as yours. Relationships involve risks and who knows; maybe having the friendship you both share could even make the relationship better!

Dear Alexis,             This girl likes my boyfriend, she's made that obvious. She knows he has a girlfriend and continues to flirt with him. He said they're just friends but it's evident she wants more out of it. He's a really nice guy and can't be mean to her. Should I speak my mind to her? My first column!

October 7th, 2011 was the first issue of our school newspaper, and luckily for me, my column was in there! It means a lot to know that the editor liked my column and to see my words, my name, my picture in there. You're probably thinking I'm crazy to be this excited, but you would be excited too if it was your writing! This to me is like winning an award for being the best runner, except a little different. :). Anyway I  was just super excited to see my face; my name in our school paper! Let's keep this going!
