Do I find a New Date to Prom?


Dear Alexis,
The guy I’m planning to go to prom with won’t talk to me and is ignoring me at all costs. We have set plans to go to prom but lately he won’t talk to me. I think he forgot about our plans. Do I find a last minute date or hope he still goes with our plans?

Dear Anonymous, 
Prom dates are always a hassle and finding a prom date early is a good thing to do. If you and the guy you’re planning to go with already have set plans, then it doesn't make sense to find another date but it also doesn't make sense for him to ignore you. I don’t think you should find another date because you already have one; I do think you should call him and let him know that if he doesn't communicate with you soon, you’ll be finding another date to prom. Don’t stress about it too much, maybe he’s just caught up with school. Send him a text here and there, and then give him a little phone call. I’m sure he hasn't forgotten about your prom plans. Just give him a little nudge.

Dear Alexis,             This girl likes my boyfriend, she's made that obvious. She knows he has a girlfriend and continues to flirt with him. He said they're just friends but it's evident she wants more out of it. He's a really nice guy and can't be mean to her. Should I speak my mind to her? My first column!

October 7th, 2011 was the first issue of our school newspaper, and luckily for me, my column was in there! It means a lot to know that the editor liked my column and to see my words, my name, my picture in there. You're probably thinking I'm crazy to be this excited, but you would be excited too if it was your writing! This to me is like winning an award for being the best runner, except a little different. :). Anyway I  was just super excited to see my face; my name in our school paper! Let's keep this going!
