How Do I Help My Cousin?


My cousin and I have always been close but lately she has been into partying and drugs. Do I tell her parents or do I confront her?

Dear Anonymous, 

        Since your cousin and you have always been close, it shouldn't be hard for you to sit down and tell her how you feel about the situation. You should talk to her and tell her that she has two choices. She can tell her parents herself in hope of getting better or you can give her a certain amount of time to stop her habit and come clean or else you’ll tell her parents for her. My advice to you is to eventually tell her parents, but give her the chance to tell her parents herself first. Any path you choose, her parents will find out about it and she’ll be put on the right track. Good luck and I hope she gets better soon!

Dear Alexis,             This girl likes my boyfriend, she's made that obvious. She knows he has a girlfriend and continues to flirt with him. My first column!

October 7th, 2011 was the first issue of our school newspaper, and luckily for me, my column was in there! It means a lot to know that the editor liked my column and to see my words, my name, my picture in there. You're probably thinking I'm crazy to be this excited, but you would be excited too if it was your writing!
