Prom Confusion

Should I (being a guy) ask the girl to prom or does she ask me?

Dear Prom Boy,
          Most people dream of the day they go to prom but whether they are asked or if they are the askee is unknown. In most legends it is “proper” for the boy to ask the girl to prom, ask them to marry them, etc. but I cheer for change. The girl can ask the boy to prom, marriage, and anything along those lines. If you have your mind set on asking this girl to prom, go for it! I’m not implying that you should ask her because you’re the boy but more as you asking her because you want to. I don’t think that gender matters when it comes to asking someone to prom; YOU choose who you go to prom with. I hope all works out in finding a date. Have fun at prom!

Dear Alexis,             This girl likes my boyfriend, she's made that obvious. She knows he has a girlfriend and continues to flirt with him. He said they're just friends but it's evident she wants more out of it. He's a really nice guy and can't be mean to her. Should I speak my mind to her? My first column!

October 7th, 2011 was the first issue of our school newspaper, and luckily for me, my column was in there! It means a lot to know that the editor liked my column and to see my words, my name, my picture in there. You're probably thinking I'm crazy to be this excited, but you would be excited too if it was your writing! This to me is like winning an award for being the best runner, except a little different. :). Anyway I  was just super excited to see my face; my name in our school paper! Let's keep this going!
