Potential Boyfriend


Dear Alexis,
                So this guy and I have been on a couple of dates, and I feel like I could potentially have a relationship with him, but I don't think he is ready to commit to anyone. Should I talk to him about it or just wait and see how things go?

Dear Anonymous,
                Unfortunately, you won’t know if he is ready for a commitment unless you ask him. When you’re faced with a situation like this, waiting it out can be the toughest and longest part of the whole process. While others may choose the path of waiting, you might not be as patient as others. Asking is the best way to go when you’re confused about a relationship. I suggest going out on a few more dates and once you feel comfortable with asking him if he’s planning on, or even has thought about, a committed relationship with you, you should ask him. You have two paths to choose; waiting it out, or asking him straight on. Either one will get you an answer; it’s just a matter of whether or not you want to wait for your answer.

Dear Alexis,             This girl likes my boyfriend, she's made that obvious. She knows he has a girlfriend and continues to flirt with him. He said they're just friends but it's evident she wants more out of it. He's a really nice guy and can't be mean to her. Should I speak my mind to her? My first column!

October 7th, 2011 was the first issue of our school newspaper, and luckily for me, my column was in there! It means a lot to know that the editor liked my column and to see my words, my name, my picture in there. You're probably thinking I'm crazy to be this excited, but you would be excited too if it was your writing! This to me is like winning an award for being the best runner, except a little different. :). Anyway I  was just super excited to see my face; my name in our school paper! Let's keep this going!
