If I have learned anything in my 21 years of life, it is to NEVER take yourself for granted. Never belittle yourself to the point of emptiness and never bury yourself in so many “what ifs” that you lose sight in what is most important – you. Positivity is so important in my day to day life. I like to turn someone’s bad morning into an “it’ll get better because the sun is shining” kind of day. I tend to make jokes to someone who I know is hurting deep inside because in that tiny moment, I know they can just breathe. These are important moments in my life and to have the optimistic mindset is a blessing to me. The only problem is when I am faced with myself. I can look at the most pitiful flower and see the beauty, I can look at the rain falling from the sky and get teary eyed, and I can see the love in the eyes of an enemy but I cannot convince myself that I am worth it. ReplyDeleteI'm really nervous about this but here goes nothing. I'm a senior at your school and as we both know sadies is coming up. I don't know who to ask. I really would like to go with someone but I don't even know who'd I'd ask as a friend. All of close friends have dates now and so I feel kind of left out. I considered asking a guy I recently started talking to but he doesn't seem to into me. When we're with each other in person it's fantastic, but he never returns my texts. He's in college so I know he's always busy with classes and all. However, whenever I try to hang out with him he bails last moment. I guess he's known to do that to a lot of girls because he has trust issues. (Once he even bailed on a girl 5 minutes before a dance!) I just don't want that to be me, you know? It sucks because all my friends are having these experiences that high schoolers are supposed to have. They gone out on dates, been in relationships, etc. I'm 18 and I've never been asked out once. I'm embarrassed because when I get to college I know they'll be more guys, but...wouldn't it be awkward to tell them I've never even been kissed. I try going after guys and lowering my standards but I ALWAYS get friend-zoned. I've tallied up 27 times since I was a freshman. Some how, somewhere along the line I mess it up. I just want someone who I can wake up and have a good morning text from, and they call me beautiful because lord knows I don't feel beautiful at all. I feel ugly and alone, the saddest part is that i'm considered one of the most popular girls. But how come no one will take a chance and date me?

Just to clear things up I am 18. The thing is though, I really think he could be the one for me. The timing however is the worst.
